My first sessions with clients focus on clarifying values. This allows me to really understand what matters most to them, drives them, and grounds them in the actions they take. So, for you to understand what drives me, my top personal values are: health, service to others, play, independence, flexibility, honesty, adventure, spirituality, cooperation, education, and contentment.
My “why” for becoming a therapist has always been to be the person I wish I had during times of uncertainty and hardship. Life can feel lonely and make us believe we are the only one who feels the way we do. Sharing our experiences helps us reduce feelings of shame and realize we are not wrong, “crazy” or alone.
As a mental health counselor and yoga teacher, I work with clients to reconnect to their authentic self, build strategies to advocate for their needs, and to promote lasting change in their lives. I have a soft spot for helpers and creatives, such as healthcare professionals, healers, therapists, teachers, caregivers, parents, “people pleasers,” artists, etc.
I currently live in Sarasota, Florida after living in Indianapolis, Indiana for most of my adult life. Outside of work, I am outdoors and moving my body as much as possible, taking nature photos, trying new vegetarian restaurants, and traveling as often as I can.
The path to self-discovery
Together, consistent practice (abhyasa) and detachment (vairagya) stop the chatter of the mind.
